Glory of 25 Years
In 1986, the film The Karate Kid Part II followed on the success 1984’s The Karate Kid  by raking in just over $115,000,000 dollars at the box office. That figure made it the fourth highest-grossing film of the year. The film also did its predecessor one better by scoring a number one hit song when Peter Cetera’s “Glory of Love” hit the top of Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart for a two-week stay exactly 25 years ago today. The song was Cetera’s first solo single after leaving the band Chicago, and it would be the first of two straight number 1 songs to kick off his solo career, followed by the duet “Next Time I Fall” with Amy Grant a few months later.
