Guess what? Dancing Queen is Abba’s only U.S. No. 1 hit
Guess what? “Dancing Queen” was written by ABBA members Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson and released in 1976. The demo of the song was produced with nonsense lyrics and the songwriters initially called the track “Boogaloo.” Eventually, ABBA’s manager Stig Anderson hit the jackpot when he suggested the title “Dancing Queen.” In 1977, the track became the Swedish pop quartet’s first and only U.S. No. 1 hit.
