Hungry Heart
Though he’s never taken a single to number 1, in 1984-1985, Bruce Springsteen would make history when his album Born in the U.S.A. scored seven top ten singles (tying Michael Jackson’s Thriller for most top ten singles off the same album,  later equalled by Janet Jackson’s Rhythm Nation 1814). However, it was 30 years ago right now that Springsteen’s first top ten single, “Hungry Heart” (from the album The River), was peaking at number five on Billboard‘s Hot 100 charts.Â
