I Think We’re Alone Now
Exactly 25 years ago, California-based singer Tiffany Darwish, who is better known as just “Tiffany,” was entering into the second week of her two-week run at number 1 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart with her single “I Think We’re Alone Now.” Technically, “I Think We’re Alone Now” was Tiffany’s second single, but it was her first to hit the Hot 100 chart.  The remake of the late 1960s’ Tommy James and the Shondells hit would also be the first of two consecutive number one singles for Tiffany, with “Could’ve Been” topping the hot 100 for two weeks as well in February 1988.
Tiffany would score three more top 40 hits between 1988 and 1989, with “I Saw Him Standing There,” a remake of the Beatles’ “I Saw Her Standing There,” hitting number 7 in 1988; “All This Time” peaking at number 6 in 1989; and “Radio Romance” hitting number 35 in 1989.
Though she hasn’t been back to the Top 40 since “Radio Romance,” Tiffany continues to make music, most recently releasing Rose Tattoo in 2011. For more on Tiffany, check out her official website.
