It Happened 50 Years Ago: Bar-Kays “Soul Finger”
Memphis-based band the Bar-Kays made nine appearances on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart, with two of those songs reaching the Top 40 and one making the Top 20. Their one Top 20 hit was their first hit, “Soul Finger,” and exactly 50 years ago, “Soul Finger” climbed to a peak position of number 17.
