Glasgow-born musician Donovan scored the two biggest hits of his career with his two singles that appeared on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart in 1966. After “Sunshine Superman” topped the chart in September of that year, exactly 50 years ago, Donovan was in the second week of a three-week run at number 2 with “Mellow Yellow.”
