Manchester, England-based band Freddie and the Dreamers appeared on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart six times, with all six appearances occurring in 1965. Of the six singles, four reached the Top 40, and exactly 50 years ago, their biggest hit, “I’m Telling You Now,” climbed into the number one spot, where it would spend two weeks.
