It Happened 50 Years Ago: Freddy Cannon “Action”
Massachusetts-born singer Freddy Cannon has hit the Top 40 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart eight times, all between 1959 and 1965. Cannon scored the last of those Top 40 hits with “Action,” from the television variety show Where The Action Is, hosted by Dick Clark. Exactly 50 years ago, “Action” climbed to a peak position of number 13, where it would spend one week.
