It Happened 50 Years Ago: Glen Campbell “Wichita Lineman”

In addition to tremendous success on the Country chart, Glen Campbell enjoyed quite a bit of crossover success on the pop music chart between the early 1960s and early 1980s. Campbell made thirty-seven appearances on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart, with five of those songs reaching the Top 10. Exactly 50 years ago, the first of that quintet of Top 10 hits, “Wichita Lineman,” climbed to a peak position of number 3.
