Spanning two and a half decades between 1962 and 1987, Herb Alpert made 39 appearances on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart. Amid all that success, Alpert’s biggest hit was the first of his two number one hits, “This Guy’s in Love With You,” which exactly 50 years ago climbed to the top of the chart for a four-week reign.
