Melanie made nine appearances on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart, with six of those songs hitting the Top 40 and two reaching the Top 10. Her biggest hit was her lone number one hit, “Brand New Key,” which exactly 50 years ago began a three-week run at top of the chart.
