It Happened 50 Years Ago: Mercy “Love (Can Make You Happy)”
Florida-based band Mercy made just two appearances on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart, with a pair of songs in 1969. While the second song, “Forever,” only reached number 79, exactly 50 years ago the first song, “Love (Can Make You Happy),” rose to a peak position of number 2.
