British actress, singer, and songwriter Petula Clark has hit the Top 10 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart six times, all in the mid-1960s. Those hits include two number one singles — “Downtown” and “My Love” — each of which spent two weeks atop the chart. Exactly 50 years ago, “Downtown,” which was Clark’s first charting single, rose into the number one position for its two week stay.
