The Raiders made twenty-four appearances on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart, with fifteen of those songs hitting the Top 40 and five reaching the Top 10. Their biggest hit was their only number one hit, their version of “Indian Reservation (The Lament of the Cherokee Reservation Indian),” which climbed to the top of the chart for a one-week reign exactly 50 years ago today.
