New Orleans-born singer Robert Parker appeared on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart twice. The second of those appearances came in 1967, when “Tip Toe” peaked at number 83. By far the more successful appearance happened with Parker’s first charting single, “Barefootin’.” Exactly 50 years ago, “Barefootin'” climbed to a peak position of number 7, where it would spend two weeks.
