From 1966 to 1970, New York City-based duo Simon & Garfunkel reached the Top 40 with thirteen straight singles they placed on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart. The streak began with their first number on single, “The Sound of Silence.” Second in the streak was “Homeward Bound,” which exactly 50 years ago was in its second week of a two-week stay at a peak position of number 5.
