It Happened 50 Years Ago: The Arbors “The Letter”

Ann Arbor, Michigan based group The Arbors hit the Top 40 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart with just one of the four songs they placed on the chart. That one song was their version of the song ‘The Letter,” a song that The Box Tops took to number one in 1967 and that Joe Cocker took to number 7 with Leon Russell and The Shelter People in 1970. Exactly 50 years ago, The Arbor’s version climbed to a peak position of number 20.
