The Beatles hit number one on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart twice in 1966. In January, they spent three weeks at the top with “We Can Work It Out.” Then, exactly 50 years ago, they topped the chart again, this time with “Paperback Writer,” which jumped from number 15 to number one, where it would spend two nonconsecutive weeks.
