All seven of Los Angeles-based band The Byrds’ Top 40 hits on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart came in a time span of just over two years between mid-1965 and mid-1967. The first of those hits was also the band’s first appearance on the chart, and it was as successful as possible. Exactly 50 years ago, The Byrds’ “Mr. Tambourine Man” climbed into the number one position, where it would spend one week.
