It Happened 50 Years Ago: The Doors “People Are Strange”
After hitting number one on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart in July 1967 their first charting single, “Light My Fire,” The Doors would go on a run of reaching the Top 40 with their first five songs to appear on the chart. Exactly 50 years ago, the second song in that five-song run, “People Are Strange,” climbed to a peak position of number 12.
