Before going solo in 1976, Kenny Rogers made ten appearances on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart with his band The First Edition. The biggest hit of the set was the band’s first hit, “Just Dropped In (To See What Condition My Condition Was In),” which exactly 50 years ago was in its second week of a two-week stay at a peak position of number 5.
