The Young Rascals, later known just as The Rascals, hit the Top 10 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart six times, with three of those songs reaching number one. Exactly 50 years ago, the last of those Top 10 hits became the group’s third and final chart-topping hit when “People Got to Be Free” rose to the pinnacle position for a five-week reign.
