Florida-based band The Royal Guardsmen made seven appearances on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart, all between 1966 and 1969, with three of those songs reaching the Top 40 and one hitting the Top 10. Exactly 50 years ago, The Royal Guardsmen’s only Top 10 hit, “Snoopy Vs. the Red Baron,” which was also the band’s first song to appear on the chart, was in its second week of a four-week stay at a peak position of number 2.
