It’s Already Been Five Years: Katy Perry “Firework”

By the time California-born singer Katy Perry‘s Teenage Dream album was released in August 2010, she had already reached number one on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart with the album’s first single, “California Gurls.” After the album’s release, Perry would go on to hit number with for more of the album’s singles. In the process, Teenage Dream tied Michael Jackson’s Bad by producing five number one singles. Exactly five years ago, Perry’s third number one single from the album, “Firework,” completed its ascension to the top, where it would remain for a four-week run.
