At the end of May 2012, Maroon 5 climbed to a peak position of number 2 alongside Wiz Khalifa with “Payphone,” the first of four Top 10 hits from the band’s Overexposed album. After dropping back for several weeks, exactly five years ago, “Payphone” climbed back to number 2 to spend an additional five weeks at the penultimate position.
