Jim Steinman 1947-2021

Songwriter and record producer Jim Steinman passed away last week at the age of 73. Even if you don’t know Steinman by name, you have almost certainly heard some of his songs, as he wrote and produced hit music for the likes of Meatloaf, Bonnie Tyler, Celine Dion, and Air Supply, among others. Known for his operatic style, he has been called the Richard Wagner of rock music.

In honor of Steinman, let us know your favorite and/or most vivid memory involving his music. Among lots of memories, the first one that always comes to my mind is how in the Fall of 1996 I went through a period where I routinely cranked up Celine Dion’s “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now” and sang it as loud as I could (which I’m sure didn’t exactly enthuse my neighbors).
