The Temptations were one of Motown Records’ most successful acts, with a chart performance history that includes 37 singles that hit the Top 40, four of which went to number 1. The third of those four number 1 singles, “Just My Imagination (Running Away with Me),” went to the top for a two-week stay exactly 40 years ago yesterday.
