Livin’ La Vida Loca
In 1991 Puerto Rican-born singer Ricky Martin released his first album, a self-titled effort. Throughout the 1990s he released several more albums, and he hit Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart a couple of times, but he never hit the Top 40.  When in 1999 he released a second self-titled album, this time he hit the big time. The first single from that album, “Livin’ La Vida Loca,” rose all the way to number 1, and exactly 15 years ago, it was in the second week of a five-week run at the top.
Over the next two years, Martin scored four more Top 40 hits, but “Livin’ La Vida Loca” remains his only chart-topping single.
