Marie Fredriksson 1958-2019

Marie Frederiksson, who is most well known as half of the duo Roxette, passed away yesterday at the age of 61. In remembrance of Fredericksson, what is your fondest and/or most vivid memory involving Roxette‘s music?

A number of possibilities enter my mind, including listening to “Joyride” in my dormitory room in my first year of college and hearing “It Must Have Been Love” while driving around in the summer of 1990. My most prominent memory, though, is from the fall of 1989, when I took several days off school after having my wisdom teeth removed. I watched a lot of MTV on those days off, and among the videos in heaviest rotation at that time was Roxette’s “Listen to Your Heart.”
