Better With a Friend
Every mixtape I have made so far has been for my own personal amusement, but I do make tapes for friends. This months mixtape was made for a friend had not seen for over half a year, since I graduated from college. It’s an anthology of what I have been listening to this year.
The mixtape is the ultimate format for sharing music with a friend. Sure, spotify or YouTube playlists are convenient, but a mixtape is personalized pieces of art that could conceivably be held on to forever. A token, a reminder, that somebody is thinking about you, cares for you, and in that moment, made something for you.
