Dora the Explorer debuted on Nickelodeon on August 14, 2000, and it continues to air on the network and its subsidiary, Nick Jr. In the past two decades, it has become a major popular culture phenomenon, including adaptation into a live-action film this past summer. The show’s theme song was composed by Billy Straus and Josh Sitron.
