The Living Years

In the mid-1980s Genesis guitarist Mike Rutherford formed the band Mike + the Mechanics, and the band hit the Top 40 in 1986 with three singles from their first album, including two Top 10 hits in “All I Need Is A Miracle” and “Silent Running (On Dangerous Ground).” Three years later, Mike + the Mechanics scored the biggest hit of their career, as “The Living Years,” the second single from their second album, hit number 1. Exactly 25 years ago, “The Living Years” was spending its lone week at the top of Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart.
