The Look

In terms of record sales for Swedish musical acts, Roxette ranks second to ABBA.  However, when it comes to number 1 hits on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart, Roxette has ABBA beat by quite a bit.  While ABBA hit number 1 just once — with “Dancing Queen” in 1977 — Roxette topped the Hot 100 a total of four times.  “Listen To Your Heart,” “It Must Have Been Love,” and “Joyride” marked Roxette’s second, third, and fourth number one hits, respectively.  The duo’s chart-topping success, though, started exactly 25 years ago, when their first Hot 100 single, “The Look,” hit number 1 for one week.
