The Troggs’ Wild Thing at 45 Years

Exactly 45 years ago today, The Troggs hit number 1 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart with their well-known hit and Tunesmate Title Title winner “Wild Thing.”  The song, which was the band’s first to appear on the chart, spent two weeks at the top.  The Troggs would hit the chart with three other songs in their career, going to number 29 with “With A Girl Like You” and number 43 with “I Can’t Control Myself” later in 1966 and then finding the top 10 again in 1968 with “Love Is All Around,” which rose to number 7.

Four and a half decades later, the Troggs are still performing, and you can find out more about them on their official website.
