Title Title on the Tenth: Feel Like Makin’ Love
In this past month’s Title Title, Van Halen knocked off the Carpenters, Brandy featuring Mase, and Pussycat Dolls to win the Title Title for “Top Of The World.” This month, we look back to exactly 40 years ago today, when Roberta Flack scored the third of her three number one singles on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart with “Feel Like Makin’ Love,” which spent one week at the top.  Flack’s song isn’t the only song named “Feel Like Makin’ Love” to hit the Top 10, though. In fact, it wasn’t the only song named “Feel Like Makin’ Love” to hit the Top 10 in the mid-1970s. A little over a year later, in September 1975, Bad Company peaked at number 10 with their song titled “Feel Like Makin’ Love.”
These remain the only two songs with that title to hit the Hot 100 (though Bob James charted in late 1974 with a remake of Flack’s hit slightly renamed as “Feel Like Making Love”). The question for today is “Which one deserves the Title Title?” Check out both songs and vote below.
