Title Title on the Tenth: One
In this past month’s Title Title, the Jeff Healey Band defeated Love and Theft to win the “Angel Eyes” Title Title. Also this past month, Tunesmate recognized that it has been 25 years since the Bee Gees’ last Top 10 hit, “One,” hits its peak position of number 7.
The Bee Gees’ “One” was the second of two songs titled “One” to hit the Top 40 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart in 1989, and it was the third of four songs titled “One” that have hit the Top 40 in the rock ‘n’ roll era. The first, from Three Dog Night, hit number 5 in 1969. Then came Metallica’s “One,” which reached number 35 in 1989, followed by the Bee Gees’ peak at number 7 with their “One.” Finally, in 1992, U2 hit number 10 with their song titled “One.”
