What’s In Your Record Collection?

Back in the day, if a friend invited you over to their house within minutes you’d know what they are listening to by simply looking at the CDs on their shelf. Now what are you supposed to do?

Most services like Pandora and Blip.fm now keep your personal music likes and dislikes online for the public to see. However if my friend isn’t signed up to one of these services, should I ask to flick through someone’s iPod? Has even the simplest act of finding out the tastes of an acquaintances music in the modern era become better or worse?
