Whitney Houston’s Higher Love

Whitney Houston recorded Steve Winwood’s 1986 hit “Higher Love” in 1990 for her third album I’m Your Baby Tonight. But producer Narada Michael Walden didn’t like it and the song was only released as a Japan bonus cut. Last year Kygo dug up Whitney’s vocals and remixed it with his Tropical Club style of music. Kygo wanted to balance the original vocal production and blend it with something fresh. He told Rolling Stone, “I was trying to make it sound like something that she would’ve done, but also something that’s my style.” The result was a magnificent rendition of one of the best pop songs of all-time. How do you feel about the cover? It is better than the original?
